"HUH? You think YOU can just turn down a request from NAT VANCEY?"'

— Nat Vancey

Description[]

Nat Vancey is a small, pale girl with wavy coral hair running just slight below shoulder-level. She is the first character the player encounters, and gives you the tutorial.

She is the daughter of Trencil Varnnia, having a complex relationship with him due to her rebellious phase. The big divide in their relationship was most notably triggered by her changing her last name, in order to be seen as "cool."

Nat does admit to loving her father, although her cool persona makes her extremely adverse to saying it to his face. After Trencil is cheered up, she expresses shock that her words would have an effect on her dad, saying "but he KNOWS that I love him" and that she will never understand him. Other Habiticians mention her cold exterior, notably Millie and Trevor.

Of all the Habiticians, she is the most outwardly critical of Dr. Habit. Nat notes his videos as creepy, and on the game website she describes the Habitat as having a vibe that is "kinda totally weird? Like, I could wake up with no kidneys and be like, not surprised at all. It’s that kind of place?"

Quotes[]

  • (When shown Trencil's photo) "Ugh. There’s dad...He made such a stink about me changing my name. It’s not a big deal! I just want to be cool."
  • (When shown Trevor's photo) "He thinks I’m a vampire. He’s about half right."
  • (When punched) "HEY! You keep those mitts away from my fair complexion. My dad's a powerful guy, you know."
  • (When given a Kiss) "Oh, delivering kisses now, are you. Huuuh. Bleh. It's probably from that loud kid who thinks he's a wolf. What was his name... Tractor... or something... I don't care. He said he thinks I'm really cool because I have 'dazzling vampire fangs.' Which...... ew. My eyes are up here. Well, I guess I have this dumb kiss now. I'm just gonna, uh.. ..drop it into the pond or something."
  • (When shown the Superhero Painting) "Uh no thanks. Looks too much like my dad."
  • (When shown the Werewolf Painting) "Gross. No thanks."
  • (When shown the Floral Painting) "I don't need your catalogue."

Trivia[]

  • She is half-vampire, taking after her dad.
  • On the old version of the Smile For Me website, there is a testimony written by Nat about her stay at the Habitat. It reads, "What am I like, supposed to write here? “The Habitat is the ‘greatest most beautifullest’ place on Earth”? Okay, Doctor, whatever you, like, say. The Habitat is pretty uh, cool I guess. Totally like, better than hanging with the conformists on the outside. They so, totally don’t get me. At all. I guess the people here, like, don’t really get me either. The vibe overall is like...kinda totally weird? Like, I could wake up with no kidneys and be like, not surprised at all. It’s that kind of place? But I also feel pretty good. Come here if you want, I guess."
  • In a physical trading card released with the Smile For Me collector's edition, it is implied that Nat and Trevor have become good friends, with her taking him to his first rave to see "Wolfgang Faceblast"
  • In the epilogue, Trencil attaches a picture that has both him and Nat as bats.
    • Nat’s email is <vanceyvanity@blogblot.cob>, and she shows up when progress=39
